Britain’s Best Beer 2010

Britain's Best Beer 2010Voting is over and the results are in. Our quest to find Britain’s best beer that started in February has finished. Hundreds of you have voted for the best beers you’ve tasted this year. In fact votes have been cast for 145 different beers from 95 breweries, so the results should truly reflect the opinions of UK beer drinkers:

Britain’s Best Beer 2010 (draught): Thornbridge Jaipur

Runner-up: Timothy Taylors Landlord

Britain’s Best Beer 2010 (bottled): Thornbridge Halcyon

Runner-up: Thornbridge Jaipur

Surprised? No?, nor me really, Thornbridge have produced great beers for some time now and many would say that they have been leading the craft beer revolution in the UK. The fact that Landlord is runner-up shows that there is still a place in a lot of people’s hearts for more ‘traditional’ beers.

There must be some honourable mentions for those that just missed out:

  • Sarah Hughes: Dark Ruby Mild (draught)
  • Marble: Dobber (draught & bottled)
  • Saltaire: For having the most beers nominated (6)

That’s it then, we’ve found Britain’s best beer of 2010 as voted for by the beer drinking public of the UK (ok those that bothered to register & vote).

We’ve also given away ten cases of beer to ten lucky winners in our monthly prize draw – thanks to both  Ales by Mail and especially myBrewerytap for their kind sponsorship.

We’ll be running the competition again next year and giving away more great beer. Be sure to vote and help us to make it the most comprehensive beer competition the UK.
